University is a sublime platform where you can build upon the foundational skills you acquired in high school and transform theoretical knowledge into practical, real-world applications. Choosing the right university and major that aligns with your interests is imperative. As an international engineering student hailing from Malaysia, I was at a crossroads between continuing my studies in my home country or pursuing education abroad. After arduous deliberation and fruitful discussions with my family and friends, I chose HKUST to embark on a new journey in my life. The University's reputation for research achievements and abundant resources to support students' development and interests were the decisive factors in my choice.

Being a part of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) has been an enriching experience. I have had the opportunity to meet like-minded individuals, contribute to the CSE community, and interact with faculty members who are experts in the field and have diverse research interests. With the plethora of opportunities offered at HKUST, I have challenged myself to step out of my comfort zone and try new things such as conducting research as an undergraduate and being an Engineering Student Ambassador. I am always eager to go the extra mile to contribute to the community and improve myself.

My experience in exploring my interests and realizing my passion has instilled in me a desire to introduce the field of engineering to prospective students and offer guidance to first-year engineering students in their university lives. Thanks to the ESA program, I have had the opportunity to meet people from diverse backgrounds and acquire crucial life skills to become a well-rounded individual. I firmly believe that computer science engineering has the potential to revolutionize the world, and I am thrilled to be a part of this field and make a positive impact.
