Reflecting on a personal message always offers a chance for self-improvement, and a hard thinking moment. As I enlist ChatGPT's assistance in crafting this message, I am suddenly curious about how ChatGPT works. Perhaps that's why I'm pursuing a degree in Computer Science. At university, having a genuine interest in your chosen field fuels motivation to learn and explore.
Looking at my major, people come with confusion and curiosity all the time. "Why add another major and increase your workload?" is a common question. At HKUST, despite the omnipresent stress and pressure, there's an abundance of freedom. Students can engage in a wide range of societies and a plethora of programs are available (ESA is the best in my opinion). You have the liberty to select courses based on your interests, as long as you meet graduation requirements. My fascination with Computer Science, particularly AI, led me to choose it as my second major, not only due to my passion but obviously its bright prospects. In response to the frequently asked question, I would assert that HKUST offers considerable flexibility in pursuing a second major, and my own enthusiasm helps me manage the additional workload.
Being part of the ESA family has been a delightful experience. I've had the opportunity to befriend people from diverse majors and exchange our perspectives on engineering. It has also presented me with a series of exciting "firsts" that have enriched my time at university.
