My name is Jennessia Chance. I’m an international student from Indonesia and I am the second daughter in my family. Therefore, I need to adapt to both my elder and younger sister. As a result, I have a cheerful and extrovert personality. Hence, I can socialize very well in my surrounding. After I completed my high school, I chose HKUST for it is globally reputed and nourishes diversity. After finishing my first year here, I realized that HKUST offers me countless opportunities. Not only HKUST provides a fundamental tertiary education for its students, but it also equips and prepares its students through programs like research, internships, and exchange to allow them to broaden their horizon. Besides that, HKUST also facilitates their students to be more engaged with the society through HKUST Connect. Moreover, HKUST also has various student societies and sport teams encouraging its students to have a balanced university life.

As a student of HKUST, I believe that I can reach my goal in the future as a professional civil engineer.
