As a Taiwanese student in HKUST, I plucked up my courage to step out my comfort zone ever. It took me a dozen steps to experience through the process of the quote put by Jon Snow, the Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch, “Kill the boy, and let the man be born.” The first step was to shoulder the responsibilities of being the Public Relations Secretary of Mainland Students and Scholars Society UG Section, adapting myself into a completely different social circle as well as earning me a lot of intimate friends and valuable experiences in return.

The next crucial step is the ESA program, providing me a multitude of precious opportunities to render my assistances to others in a variety of situations. I cherish every chance I seized to introduce Engineering to not only prospective students but also the general public without reserve. In spite of the fact that there is a great number of people scarcely know about Engineering, I would try my best to kindle their enthusiasm towards Engineering through my passion and patience. The Outsider, H P Lovecraft once put it, “I resolved to scale that tower, fall though I might; since it were better to glimpse the sky and perish, than to live without ever beholding day.” Engineering is the azure sky for me, without fatal traps but challenging hindrances, I will be at full steam in the pursuit of my dream.

The fruitful life I enjoy here in HKUST is the compelling story I eager to share, and welcome more people to join our big family of Engineering in HKUST.
