Dylan Yingzong

Hi, I am Dylan from Guangzhou, China. People often ask me why I came to HKUST. To be frank, it is not only the high ranking and the renowned faculties that attracted me to HKUST, but also the variety and enthusiasm that amazed me. Every day we have seminars, workshops, and student activities in the campus, and I can always find interesting and educational events apart from my research. In all, HKUST is an ideal platform to prepare my study and future career.

As a Cantonese speaker living in Hong Kong, I often find myself a 'part time' interpreter, helping people from different backgrounds to communicate with each other. And as an ESA representing the School of Engineering, it is a perfect opportunity to make use of my engineering and language background to connect to the academic society and the general public. In the meantime, the EAS program provides trainings and outreaching activities, which develop my skills in communication and socializing. It will be a fruitful experience, I believe, to join the ESA program to connect, to serve, and to learn.
