Hello/Bonjour/Hola! I am Jose from Mexico. I joined HKUST after completing my high school studies in France.  Since childhood I have always had an extreme curiosity about the world and the way things work. Early in my life, I acquired a keen interest in science and its applications that have significantly improved our lives in the form of technological advances.

Nowadays, our global economies run on innovation and entrepreneurship that is fostered through engineering and discoveries in science. I would say there has never been a better time to become an engineer and delve into such a rapidly-changing and dynamic field.

Growing up in Mexico and France has allowed me to see the world from different yet essential perspectives, and my next challenge would be coming to HKUST to expand my horizons further.

By studying at a world-class University in Asia, HKUST has allowed me to fulfill my ambitions of becoming an engineer and exploring the world. I believe that such experiences will empower me to  continue following my passions and expanding my horizons no matter where in the world I find myself.

Joining the School of Engineering and the ESA program have allowed me to meet incredible people from whom I take inspiration from every day, whether it is chatting with them at the Engineering Commons or studying hard for upcoming finals. I firmly believe that “we can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone.”

Please feel free to contact me if you would like to hear more about myself, the School of Engineering or the Engineering Student Ambassador Program.
