Engineering – a male dominant subject in many people’s eyes. As a female who is studying at the School of Engineering, we know that females are never weaker in this industry. I was interested in studying science since I was young. Rather than theoretical science, I am more interested in putting those theories into practical use and invent something that is able to improve our daily lives. Engineering has always been labelled as a boring subject to some. To me though, engineering is challenging and diverse, and requires a lot of creativity to develop different programs and products. That is the reason I am so interested and enthusiastic about engineering.
One of the best decisions I have made after being admitted to HKUST was to apply for the Engineering Student Ambassador (ESA) program. Joining this ESA family, I had the chance to meet a lot of students around the globe who are achieving their dream in this field. It is my pleasure to meet all the ESAs as I have learnt a lot from them, especially communication skills. I am delighted to have the opportunity to promote SENG to everyone, to help them understand more about the discipline and hopefully join us in the future!
