Since my early high school days, I have been involved in various science projects both as part of school work and out of personal interest. These projects helped me identify my passion for engineering and since then, I have never looked back. I didn’t have to think twice when I chose to study engineering for my undergraduate and graduate studies at university. I started with Mechanical Engineering for undergraduate and slowly moved towards Chemical Engineering for graduate and doctoral studies. I have always enjoyed what I do. Looking ahead, I would like to continue in this path and work towards solving problems that would have a positive influence on people’s lives.
One of the important decision-making criteria in deciding where to do my PhD was the overall environment of the university. HKUST being a very young and top ranked university with a renowned reputation for innovation, along with a dynamic and multicultural atmosphere in a highly cosmopolitan city appeared to be the most appealing to me. Apart from research, HKUST also offers a wide range of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities in which I actively participate in. I am proud to be a part of the HKUST fraternity. After spending around 2 years in Hong Kong and being at HKUST, I am confident that I have made the right decision.
