Curiosity forms the crux of my existence. I frequently find myself digging into the depths of everything around me trying to “observe and learn”. As a religious follower of “Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey” I take my inspiration from Carl Sagan to ‘dare to dream’. By meddling with imagination and technology we have stirred a revolution and given the world more than what one could ever imagine. The paradigm is constantly shifting and I wanted to be a part of this digital revolution, which is why I chose to study Computer Science.
Technology has given me a reason to believe that one day, time machines will be real and teleportation will be a realistic mode of travel. This is where HKUST comes in.
What I love about studying here is the application-based learning. Even though I have just finished a year, I have already made over 10 computer games, an electro-robot car, an airship, a proposal for a food business and another one for a business that aims to make the world more sustainable - all from scratch!
To learn from the textbook is one thing – that’s all we did in high school. But to apply it in the real world was the real deal. It has given me a whole new level of confidence in my choices regarding my career and my place of study. It gave my bookish knowledge a new perspective to think and grow from.
Having done the International Baccalaureate, I received a lot of credit transfers that gave me the opportunity to explore other subjects. As a result, I am already planning a minor in entrepreneurship! Feel free to email me regarding IB, computer science, engineering or just life at HKUST!
