Ever since I was fourteen, I knew I had a drive for problem solving because I would get very excited to learn new things in the field of Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science. I always needed something challenging to stimulate my brain which ignited my passion towards engineering.
Growing up, I was lucky enough to witness drastic technological advancements and developments which have always fascinated me. I started looking up to computer scientists such as Mark Zuckerberg, Tim Berners-Lee, and Bill Gates who made a huge difference to the world with their exemplary skills. I realized that I wanted to make a difference to people's lives as well, even if it was a small one. Therefore, I decided that HKUST School of Engineering was the best place for me to be trained for pursuing my passion.
I have never felt more challenged until I took various courses in the School of Engineering, made projects and pursued internships during the past two years. I realized how quickly my skills were developing and how supportive and friendly my environment was. The School of Engineering has always helped me make the most out of my experience as an undergraduate student by providing academic advisory from very experienced professors as well as various talks and training workshops.
After completing my second year, I realized that other than just academic and career-related successes, I really wanted to be able to inspire and support any student who has even a spark of curiosity about engineering and wanted to pursue it. Therefore, I jumped at the opportunity to become an Engineering Student Ambassador. I hope to welcome many students to the School of Engineering and support them through the fruitful experience of being a part of this family.
