Alex Ho Yin

Hi, my name is Alex. The reason I chose Civil Engineering is that I can gain a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction from creating something with my hands. I think that constructing a building can really put my knowledge to good use and improve the community. Besides, I love working with different people in a team. It is because I strongly believe that different people have their own strengths, which makes every individual distinct and special. By working with various people, we can gather our ideas to make our project as perfect as possible. With the promised academic excellence and dynamic learning environment of HKUST, I can prepare and equip myself with soft and hard skills to pursue my dream. 

One of the best decisions I have made is entering the School of Engineering. Not only can I meet more people and be submerged in an environment that requires teamwork, I also gain a global vision and develop an interpersonal network to make a stride towards my dream. These priceless experiences are extremely valuable to me so that I can unearth my potential and challenge my limits. I am delighted to have the opportunity to promote the School of Engineering to everyone, and help them understand more about the discipline so hopefully they will join us in the future!
