Biography
Prof. Hongyu Yu received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electronics Engineering from Tsinghua University, China, in 1997 and 2000, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California, USA, in 2005. He was a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Southern California from 2005-207. He joined Arizona State University (ASU), USA, in 2008 holding as assistant professor (2008-2014) and associate professor (2014-2017) in both School of Earth and Space Exploration and School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering. During the tenure at ASU, he was the principal investigator for several projects from NASA, NSF and Intel. He has joined UST since new year day of 2018. His interest is providing engineering solutions for scientific studies and real-life demands. His research focuses on smart structures, sensors and sensing platforms, and miniature instrumentation with applications for cube satellites, aerial vehicles and consumer electronics. His research is to seek the excellence and impact to both academics society and application demands.
