工学院陈启峰教授入选《麻省理工科技评论》2018年中国区「35岁以下科技创新35人」
香港科技大学工学院计算机科学及工程学系与电子及计算机工程学系助理教授陈启峰，荣获麻省理工学院旗下的《麻省理工科技评论》选为2018年中国区「35岁以下科技创新35人」其中一人。
自1999年开始，《麻省理工科技评论》每一年都会在生物科技、能源、交通运输、通讯和网际网路 等不同范畴，从全球挑选出一批35岁以下杰出的创造者。
而为了表示对中国科技界新晋人才的认同，该评论于2017年特别于中国区设立奖项，表扬中国国内一些能够改变我们生活方式及塑造科技和业界未来的年轻人。
于2018年举办的第二届中国区「35岁以下科技创新35人」大奖，35位得奖者分别来自五大类别：创业家（entrepreneurs）、人道主义者（humanitarians）、先锋者（pioneers）、远见者（visionaries）和发明家（inventors）。他们涵盖了不同新兴科技范畴，例如人工智能、机器人、拓扑量子和航空及航天学。
年仅29岁的陈启峰教授，钻研计算机视觉领域多年。在七位是次获选为远见者的人当中，陈教授佔一席位，肯定了他在图像合成与分解和光流算法等方面取得的突破。
近年来，陈教授专注于利用人工智能合成图像和视频。他创新地利用以多个分辨率倍增模块为基础的级联优化网路，能够合成出媲美真实照片的图像。
他亦是视频直播公司Lino的创办人之一。Lino是以硅谷为基地的初创企业，矢志为内容创作提供更公开和透明的平台。
陈教授的研究成果，令我们在不久的将来，便能够单纯以计算机视觉技术完成电影拍摄。
