Engineering Student Ambassador, 2024-25
Class of 2027,
BEng in Aerospace Engineering
Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

I’m Jori, a sophomore in Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Design. My passion for engineering has grown from a sole interest in a career in aerospace to a broader array of disciplines within it, such as electronic engineering, robotics, and design. Along with my academics, I enjoy participating in competitions, coming up with new product ideas, and collaborating with my friends from different cultures while learning from their skills and experiences.

HKUST provides me with opportunities to explore my various interests and deepen my understanding of fields beyond my major, Aerospace Engineering. It also allows me to meet like-minded people as well as those I don’t share much in common with. Every semester here turns out to be different from what I expect, always in a positive way in hindsight, as I learn things I never anticipated.

I envision myself working in a space agency someday, with a creative career on the side to keep me revitalized and energized, exercising both my analytical and creative capacities. On campus, you'll find me in Passion with a plate of pasta, revising at the wide tables in LG4 or the engineering commons, running on the track, or helping out with ESA duties.

ESA provides me with the opportunity to connect with alumni and faculty from whom I have so much to learn, and of course, with my lovely peers. See you around!
