Engineering has always been my childhood dream, and my love for Physics and Chemistry made it a clear choice for my major. While I appreciate science, my true passion lies in its practical application in daily life. This was evident from a young age, as I spent hours building both physical and virtual models. This hobby has greatly influenced my interest in engineering. It is fascinating how, after years of planning and construction, a group of professionals can contribute so much to society and even claim to be its foundation. This excites me about becoming a civil engineer, and I would love to join this group.

Studying at HKUST will allow me to expand my interests and pursuits. While I am focused on civil engineering, I am also curious about other fields. Before coming to UST, I had not gained experience in programming or AI technology. However, the computer science courses here have piqued my interest. The extended major in AI at UST offers me the opportunity to delve deeper into this field, which is a unique prospect I am excited about.

While at UST, I see that it offers a well-rounded student experience with opportunities to join societies, workshops, and research projects. For example, joining the university choir has allowed me to express my love for singing and gain musical knowledge that I could not achieve solely through academic studies. This extracurricular activity not only complements my academic pursuits but also adds a unique dimension to my personality, which I believe is important for personal growth.
