I discovered my passion in my major, Computer Engineering (CPEG), which provides a wide range of courses covering extensive knowledge from computer science (CS) to electronic engineering (EE). This gives me a lot of room to develop holistic skills. The distinct course design helps me gain a thorough understanding of both software and hardware. As a result, I have further developed expertise in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and other multidisciplinary domains. All of these experiences have strengthened my intellectual background and broadened my engineering horizons.
One of my most remarkable experiences at HKUST was participating in the ABU Robocon Competition as a member of the HKUST Robotics Team. I led a team of 15 members to build the highest-speed robots, which achieved the only "Full Scores" in the competition and won the Championship. While preparing for the competition, I applied the knowledge I acquired from my seniors and teammates. I gained a lot of experience and met many close friends. We worked together as a team to achieve one goal.
Beyond engineering, I find comfort and inspiration in music as a member of the HKUST University Choir and the University Philharmonic Orchestra (UPO). I cherish the opportunity to showcase my talents as a singer, pianist, percussionist, and conductor on stage. Engaging in music allows me to unwind and relax, creating a space where I can express myself fully and immerse myself in the power of harmonies and melodies.
Reflecting on my journey, I believe, "We are a legend ourselves; even if it's not perfect, we should just be ourselves." This personal quote has guided me through the diverse chapters of academia, robotics, and music. By giving all our passion to what we love without fear of failure, we will discover unimaginable rewards and growth.
