Engineering isn't just a field of study for me; it's a boundless realm of creativity, innovation, and problem-solving that can completely alter the way you look at life. When contemplating my path in higher education, I always knew I wanted to pursue engineering. Still, I was intimidated by the idea of stepping into this realm alongside people whom I knew would thrive and excel, fearing that I wouldn’t be able to keep up. I was about to let this intimidation get the better of me and pursue something else, but it wasn’t until I attended a talk by the School of Engineering (SENG) at HKUST that I realized how big of a mistake that would be. I remember so distinctly the words, “HKUST engineering will bring out the best in you.” From that moment onward, I knew that this was what I wanted to pursue and was ready to embrace the challenges.

Looking back, I can honestly say that my experience at HKUST and SENG has completely changed my life. The vibrant atmosphere, the good-natured people, and the unparalleled support from faculty have not only allowed me to improve as a student but have also enriched me as a person in ways I could have never imagined. HKUST has been a place where I know I’ve forged lifelong connections and discovered my true passions. I am genuinely grateful for the countless opportunities that have shaped me into who I am today. And as long as you let it, HKUST Engineering will bring out what’s best in you.
