During my childhood, I loved watching a TV show known as “I Love Invention.” The inventors on the show were not professionals, but people who encountered problems and tried to solve them in creative ways. I was deeply impressed by one of the inventors who created a universal charger because he hated the burden of bringing all types of chargers with him. The universal charger then became extremely popular, and today, nearly every family in mainland China has one. I was amazed by how the application of scientific knowledge could change our lives in so many unexpected ways, and there is such a wide range of possibilities out there waiting for us to explore. The spirit of improving the world by solving problems in previously unimaginable ways inspired me to pursue engineering.

This passion led me to HKUST, where like-minded people gather to pursue our similar yet unique dreams. I was given a precious opportunity to dive into a dynamic curriculum that combined theory with practical, hands-on projects. This experience honed my skills in critical thinking and innovation, driving me to become an engineer who not only solves problems but also strives to make a meaningful impact on society.
