Ka Chun

I have always been curious and enthusiastic about computer programming. I was a rebellious high school student who had gotten into much trouble. However, this troublemaking kid would somehow quiet down when he was working on computer projects. I did not realize it at the time, but in retrospect, this is a constant reminder of the importance of passion - loving what you do is key.

I have always dreamed of becoming a software engineer aiming to solve or lessen existing societal problems using my technical and presentation skills. HKUST is one of the stepping stones to making my dream come true. The school is a great place for me to meet the best people as it is one of the top-flight research institutes worldwide. Attending lectures and lab sessions here, I believe what I have learned in class can be applied to our daily lives and benefit society. On top of that, HKUST opens the door for me to reach various precious opportunities and develop different skills of paramount importance. By joining enrichment activities at HKUST, I can sharpen a wide range of skills by stepping out of my comfort zone and challenging myself, hence realizing my potential and becoming better in the future.

I had never imagined university life could be that rewarding and fruitful if it were not for HKUST. I am now doing things that I considered "unachievable" before.
