Jasmine Hei Yui

Having my first choice in HKUST engineering school for my university education, I am not clear which major I am really interested in. Until I learnt about my current major: Integrated System and Design, I immediately know this is what I want and I was lucky enough to be the first batch of students to get into ISD through JUPAS. ISD is about innovation, teamwork and problem-solving, which reignited my dream of an inventor. Its project-based courses and experiential learning style encourage me to think creatively and inspire me with new ideas. I realise my interest in applying technology into real-life problems with design, and I am able to come up with crazy thoughts just like back when I was a kid. But now, all these ideas seem so possible to me as I widen my horizon and continuously learning.

The dream of an entrepreneur is also aroused in me, where doing business was never an option of my career before I enter HKUST. However, as I worked on different projects, I understand myself more and the dream evolved. I enjoy creating original ideas that could help people and solve problems, as the ideas are not yet in the market, why don’t I start my own business? This thought continues grow on me and becomes my career plan. Thanks to HKUST and ISD, I have got many opportunities to explore new things and find myself. And my journey has just begun…
