Growing up I have looked up to engineers as my role model and have aspired to become one myself. I believe that it is never too late to begin a task and it is never too early to do preparations.
Taking part in the Dual Programme in 2018, I have learnt the foundations of engineering. Since then, my interest in engineering has sparked. This interest led me into a decision that I would never regret — studying in Engineering School, a place with unlimited possibilities. Not only did I sharpen my interpersonal skills in the students' union, but also realised the crucial mindset for engineers — to be open-minded and rational in order to solve real-world problems. Together with my interest in analysing past data for forecasting new trends, I chose to enter the innovative department — Industrial Engineering and Decision Analytics to equip myself with data management skills and to expertise in being an influential co-worker in the workplace.
HKUST can be summarized as a global university with a high level of research opportunities, offering a unique learning model. Being proactive to seize every opportunity as well as learning from experiences are keys to success. I'm proud to say that HKUST gives students more than enough support to unleash our full potential in every aspect of interests. I have joined a co-curricular program that is to co-create a series of interesting programs that implement future-fit competency. People skills and knowledge are key takeaways that no one can take away from you. I love how HKUST offers us diversified opportunities and pathways to mold oneself holistically.
