Do you like magic? I do. And by magic, I am not talking about the kind where someone pulls a bunny out of a hat, but the technological magic made possible by generations of great engineers. To me, technology is real-life sorcery. Through creativity and ingenuity, engineers have applied science in seemingly unimaginable ways, creating technology so advanced that they are almost indistinguishable from magic.  

Being a huge Marvel fan, I have always wanted to be like Tony Stark, also known as Iron Man. In the movies, he has taken engineering to the extreme, using technology to grant himself superpowers.  Even though the movies are just science fiction, I think they showcase beautifully how powerful engineering can be. This ability to develop and apply advanced technologies is what I crave for and the reason why engineering fascinates me so much.  

It is my life goal to make a difference to the world, to be a pioneer that contributes to society through creating revolutionary, innovative products. For me, getting into HKUST is the first step to my ambitious journey. Before being admitted to HKUST, I had a difficult time finding other people who shared the passion I had for engineering. But now, taking engineering courses and working at HKUST laboratories give me a chance to get to know and work with other aspiring engineers who are just as enthusiastic as I am. Studying here has been amazing, and being an Engineering Student Ambassador, I hope to inspire others to explore the world of engineering with me!
