Biography

Biography

Prof. Chen received her M.S and Ph.D degrees in Solid Mechanics at the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics, University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, United States. She continued her research as the ALS postdoctoral fellow at the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. Then, she joined the department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Her main research interests are theory-driven material design for novel functionalities. Her group also works on the emerging applications of phase-transforming materials for energy conversion, the integration of synchrotron characterization and nano-to-meso scale experimental mechanics.
