Pui I
Since high school, I’ve always known I wanted to pursue engineering. It’s like physics and math had a gravitational pull on me, almost as if the universe itself was nudging me in that direction. But once I started my first year in engineering, I quickly realised engineering is much more than solving equations. It’s about tackling real problems and building solutions that can make everyday life better and more connected.
I chose Chemical Engineering in Year 2—believe it or not, because of an introductory course on materials that completely captured my interest. The school-based admission system has given me time to explore and helped me make a choice I’m genuinely excited about. Now I get to study a subject I love, alongside some amazing friends who share my passion.
Along the way, I’ve joined competitions like Hackathons and iGEM, which have helped me grow not just as an engineer, but as a polymath. I’m glad that the School of Engineering gave me the space to discover what I truly enjoy and to grow both technically and creatively!
