HKUST Engineering is my first choice, and it will always be. I cannot forget the moment I got my offer from HKUST.
My time at HKUST began not with a fixed path, but with a question: what truly captivates me? The freedom to explore led me to an answer at the computer science. With a major in CS and minor in mathematics, I embarked on this journey.
This spirit of inquiry defined my entire university experience. I learned to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world problems, such as in an undergraduate research project developing innovative language modeling. A semester abroad at the University of Illinois further taught me to adapt and thrive in a new academic culture, strengthening my independence. Serving as an Engineering Student Ambassador, I discovered the value of clear communication and building bridges between diverse groups of people. Perhaps most importantly, I learned that rigor and creativity are not opposites; my serving at Film Society, HKUSTSU taught me how to work and function as a team.
HKUST didn't just provide an education; it provided a environment where technical proficiency and personal growth could happen simultaneously, equipping me with a multifaceted perspective I carry forward.
