My journey into engineering began with a fascination for video games. While captivated by their immersive worlds, I quickly realized the true magic lay in the code that built them. This curiosity led me to explore programming, and as I delved deeper, I realized that its applications extend far beyond gaming. I came to understand that engineering is the foundation of innovation—it is the discipline of solving real-world problems and harnessing the ability to shape the future.
My decision to study Computer Science led me to HKUST, attracted by its rigorous academic environment—what some might call “stress and tension”. By Year 3, I came to understand this not merely as stress, but as a shared passion for knowledge among the HKUST community. HKUST provides an abundance of precious resources and opportunities, both academic and extracurricular, fostering a dynamic environment that motivates students to continuously grow. Through these experiences, I’ve met peers from diverse backgrounds who have broadened my perspective, and formed friendships with those who share my passion for learning and innovation.
As a student in the School of Engineering (SENG), I’ve felt consistently supported throughout my university journey. The opportunities provided by HKUST have made my university life much more than just studying. It’s been full of meaningful experiences, exciting challenges, and moments that helped me grow. HKUST has truly become a place where I’ve discovered not only knowledge, but also myself.
