Engineering is not only about making things work; it’s about making things better.
Engineering has always been a profound passion of mine. From a young age, I was fascinated by how things work, which led me to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. My undergraduate studies laid a strong foundation in the principles of chemistry and physics, and I was captivated by the potential of engineering to solve real-world problems. After graduating, I had the opportunity to teach engineering for four years, where I not only shared my knowledge but also ignited a similar passion in my students. This experience motivated me to further my education, leading me to pursue postgraduate studies at HKUST.
The university's cutting-edge research facilities and collaborative environment have provided me with invaluable opportunities to deepen my understanding of chemical processes and their applications. I am particularly excited about my work on advanced surface modification, nanotechnology, and enhanced functional coatings, which align with my interest in sustainable engineering solutions.
Beyond academics, my time at HKUST has been incredibly enriching. I actively engage in various student organizations, which have helped me develop leadership skills and foster a sense of community. I have also embraced new sports like tennis and fencing, which have not only been enjoyable but have allowed me to connect with fellow students from diverse backgrounds. Interacting with peers from different nationalities has broadened my perspectives and enhanced my collaborative abilities, encouraging creative thinking.
As I continue my journey at HKUST, I am not only eager to expand my own knowledge but also passionate about inspiring future engineers. I hope to share my experiences and motivate fellow students to embrace their potential, cultivating a network of forward-thinking individuals dedicated to making a meaningful impact.
