Mengxi

Hi, I am Mandy. I left my hometown to come to HKUST because of its great academic environment, with an inclusive and diverse culture. In my university life here, I have various opportunities to explore my passion in engineering and discover my value. And I am still on my way. 

Looking back to my first year, after getting some exposure to computer science, I started to see the true charm of engineering: it is everywhere in life and, more importantly, empowers us to change the world. This drove me to join engineering school in my second year. In my study, I experimented with programming languages and AI models, gradually exploring my true passion. Beyond the classrooms, I joined hackathons to utilize AI in innovation and education, where I started to define my personal values.

All of these moments with engineering have been very exciting: I’m discovering my potential, stepping outside my comfort zone, and ultimately, becoming a better version of myself.
