I have always been very active since I was a child. I always wondered how many things work in the world, why they actually work, and who the innovative people are who made them work. That is when I found out about engineers, the cornerstone of this world. Ever since that moment, I dedicated a huge portion of my life to being an engineer, as I felt like being one would make me feel like I am finally of use in this society. After countless hours of studying in high school, I finally landed myself in a university perfectly suited for engineers, HKUST.
My experience at HKUST has been nothing but great. Although at times I do feel the "stress and tension" from my academics, all the kind-hearted people I have met here have made me completely forget about the stress and tension often associated with HKUST. The sports facilities here, especially the gym, also played a major role in helping me relieve stress. At the end of the day, all those academic challenges are not just to bring unnecessary stress and anxiety into my life, but they bring me strength to push through any kind of challenges in life, not just academics. This quote has stuck with me throughout my time in HKUST, and it allowed me to push past my limits: "It is only through suffering that we can gain salvation." Academics aside, I am excited about all that I have yet to experience at HKUST, and I look forward to meeting more people.
