Before university, I often felt uncertain about my future direction. Since I was young, my goal was simply to get into a prestigious university—I had no idea what I actually wanted to study. That changed when I accidentally watched a sci-fi animated series called "Pantheon." The concept of "uploaded intelligence" fascinated me and opened my eyes to the world of hardware and robotics. It was then that I realized what I wanted to pursue—electronic engineering.
After joining HKUST, I was deeply inspired by my peers’ shared enthusiasm for engineering. Working together on projects like building a smart car, we spent long days and nights testing circuits and assembling PCB boards. It was during these intense yet rewarding moments that I truly felt part of a team. We supported each other, driven by passion and a shared vision for the future. Through these experiences, I learned that engineering is not just about theories; it’s about collaboration, hands-on effort, and perseverance. Every challenge we overcame together strengthened my belief that I had made the right choice.
Beyond academics, HKUST has provided us with incredible opportunities to grow. A summer exchange program allowed me to appreciate the diversity and beauty of different cultures. Interacting with international students made me realize how varied perspectives can be—even when looking at the same problem. It broadened my horizon and enriched my learning in ways I never expected.
This year, I’m truly honored to become an Engineering Student Ambassador. I look forward to sharing my experiences and insights with prospective students and parents, helping them understand the opportunities within engineering. I also hope to build connections with like-minded peers and contribute to our innovative and inclusive campus community.
