Distinguished Engineering Alumni Awards 2027
The Distinguished Engineering Alumni Awards recognize alumni whose achievements exemplify excellence, innovation, and service to society. Their accomplishments inspire future generations and reflect the enduring impact of HKUST Engineering. Through this initiative, the School celebrates alumni who demonstrate the transformative power of engineering in shaping a better world.

Eligibility of Candidates
- Candidates must be alumni of the School of Engineering (SENG) who have successfully completed a programme and obtained an academic qualification awarded by The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST).
- The award will not be presented posthumously.
Eligibility of Nominator
- Each nomination must be submitted jointly by two eligible nominators.
- Eligible nominators include HKUST alumni, faculty members, staff members, and former faculty or staff members.
- Self-nominations will not be accepted.
- A nominator may submit more than one nomination.
Selection Criteria
The Selection Committee will consider the candidate's:
- Professional and/or academic achievements;
- Public and community service and contributions; and
- Contributions and engagement with HKUST and SENG.
Nomination Procedure
Nominators are required to complete and submit the nomination form, which will be forwarded to the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Awards Selection Committee for consideration and selection of the award recipients.
The completed nomination form and any supplementary materials must be submitted by email to sengpr@ust.hk with the subject line "Distinguished Engineering Alumni Awards" on or before Sunday, November 1, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. (HKT). Submission by fax or post will not be accepted.
Incomplete or late nominations will not be considered.

Award Presentation
Award recipients will be honoured at the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Awards Presentation Ceremony held in conjunction with the Engineering Alumni Homecoming on Saturday, January 9, 2027.
- Award recipients are expected to attend the Award Presentation Ceremony and Award Luncheon unless exceptional circumstances apply.
- The consent of selected candidates will be obtained prior to the announcement of award recipients.
- Award recipients will be invited to share their achievements and experiences to support the preparation of materials for the Award Presentation Ceremony, publications, and related publicity.
Notes
- Nominators are responsible for ensuring that all information provided in support of a nomination is accurate and complete.
- All nominations and the deliberations of the Selection Committee shall be treated as confidential. Selected candidates will be notified individually by SENG and are expected to keep the results confidential until the official announcement of the award recipients.
- The decision of the Selection Committee shall be final. The Selection Committee is not obliged to provide reasons for its decisions.
- Awards may be withdrawn should a recipient's conduct adversely affect the reputation of HKUST or SENG.
- SENG reserves the right to amend the nomination arrangements, eligibility requirements, selection criteria, and related procedures as necessary.
