The reason I chose HKUST to pursue my undergraduate degree was that it stood out to me as a place where I could not only learn but also experience more of the world. In my personal experience, the mentality of the professors is great, as they are always encouraging students to reach out, whether to ask for help or to participate in their research. The School of Engineering has also provided me with the ability to tailor my schedule to make it more interesting, and as a Chemical Engineer, I’ve taken courses such as Marketing and Putonghua.

Having spent over a year at UST so far, I still cannot get over the campus views and how much Hong Kong has to offer. Hong Kong is not only one of the most culturally diverse places in the world, but the combination of city and nature is unparalleled. With activities like university-organized water sports and trips to the city, there is never a dull moment.

Being a part of HKUST and the SENG family has made Hong Kong feel like a second home, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities and friends I’ve made along the way. Playing a role in our diverse and interesting community has truly been special to me, and as an Engineering Student Ambassador, I would love to share that with others. My aim is to ensure that prospective students know all about our university and feel welcomed to join the family!
