To me, engineering has always been about connection.

When my uncle decided to move to Hong Kong from India, I spent almost every weekend with him. He was the only extended family member to whom I felt close. One day, I arrived earlier than usual and saw him sitting on the floor, perched in front of the laptop. His screen was filled with colorful lines and strange symbols. My curiosity piqued, I asked what he was doing. He looked up, a warm smile on his face, and explained his project to me. I was too young to understand it, and he sensed it. So instead, he opened Notepad on his computer, and we wrote our first program together. He talked through the whole process, ensuring I understood everything.

The program wasn't complicated—just a simple prime number program. But we built it together.

From then on, every time we met, he would share his latest projects, his enthusiasm infectious. Sometimes, if he finished early, he would open Notepad again, and we would build things together.

He encouraged me to learn more about engineering, not as a career but as an opportunity to connect with the people around me. Through him, I learned that engineering was more than just math and code; it was a bridge between ideas, between solutions, and between people.
