As a Computer Engineering student at HKUST, my passion for engineering grows stronger as I face more challenges. Since high school, I have always been intrigued by how engineering requires an integral blend of problem-solving and creativity. Until now, my experience at HKUST has expanded from learning the basics of programming, mathematics, and physics to diving into various hands-on experiences in both computer science and electrical engineering. The rigorous curriculum at the university pushes me towards critical thinking, while collaborative projects in classes and communities have honed my skills in teamwork and other practical areas.
What excites me the most about engineering is how it can transform ideas into tangible reality. Theories of circuits and algorithms only increase my appetite for something real: systems that make life easier or technologies that further human progress. Like-minded peers and mentors here at HKUST have shown me that, aside from technical knowledge, engineering requires creativity, persistence, and a willingness to learn from one's failures. As I progress on this journey, I am hopeful of discovering endless possibilities in the field and continuing to contribute meaningfully to the future of technology.
