As a second-year engineering student at HKUST, I often reflect on the valuable experiences of my first year. Moving to Hong Kong marked an exciting new chapter, and I quickly discovered that this transition was filled with opportunities for personal and academic growth. The university's well-structured orientation programs created an inclusive atmosphere, allowing me to connect with fellow students from diverse backgrounds. These interactions not only facilitated my adaptation to university life but also fostered lasting friendships that have enriched my overall experience.
Currently, I am majoring in Chemical Engineering with an extended major in Artificial Intelligence. While my studies are primarily technical, I have also embraced opportunities to broaden my skills beyond engineering. As a member of the marketing team for one of the student societies, I engage in creating digital graphics and connecting with peers—experiences that have significantly enhanced my creativity and communication skills.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my journey has been my role as an Engineering Student Ambassador (ESA). This position allows me to share my insights and experiences with prospective students, helping them navigate the diverse opportunities available at HKUST. I find it fulfilling to guide others in their exploration of the university and to offer perspectives that may assist them in their decision-making.
Overall, my time at HKUST has been a journey of growth, connection, and discovery. I am eager to continue making the most of my engineering education and to embrace the possibilities that lie ahead.
