Choosing the right university and a fitting major is a journey that turns bookish knowledge into real-world prowess. It's the bridge between high school and practical application, and I found myself standing at this crucial crossroads. My decision led me to HKUST, a prestigious university that resonates with my aspirations. It marked the beginning of a new chapter,in which I'd navigate the intricate process of selecting the major that would define my academic journey and future career endeavors.

In today's ever-evolving engineering landscape, HKUST's common curriculum approach for the first year is a strategic advantage. This foundational year offers me a comprehensive grounding in engineering fundamentals, providing a holistic view of the field relevant to today's context. The arrangement equips me with a strong foundation, empowers me to discover my passions, and tailors my education to modern engineering demands. After tasting various engineering majors, I finally chose civil engineering as my major of interest.

As a member of the ESA program, I had the opportunity to connect with students from diverse majors and cultural backgrounds, and engage with various stakeholders, all united in our mission to promote the School. All ESAs here at HKUSTare not just students; we're change-makers. We're the spark for fresh ideas, the driving force behind innovation, and the ones who inspire. We're shaping how engineering is taught and practiced and leaving a positive mark that'll endure. And for that, we thank HKUST's School of Engineering for this incredible opportunity and prospect.
