I almost missed the HKUST School of Engineering interview, only discovering the opportunity 12 hours before it was scheduled. This incident ended up being a pivotal moment that would shape my life.

In my first year at HKUST, I was given a valuable period to reflect and discover my true interests. It was during this time that I realized my fascination with mathematics and artificial intelligence. Driven by this newfound passion, I decided to pursue a double major in Computer Science and Data Science and Technology, enabling me to delve deeper into these captivating fields.

At HKUST, students are consistently encouraged to embrace diverse experiences and seize opportunities. One such opportunity was the undergraduate research program, where I had the chance to work on cutting-edge cancer diagnosis technology. Additionally, I embarked on a one-semester exchange program at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, which provided invaluable exposure to a different academic environment. Recognizing that exploration knows no bounds, I joined the engineering student ambassador program, where I served prospective students and collaborated with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. This experience allowed me to foster a sense of community and contribute to the university in a meaningful way. Despite my academic pursuits, I also nurtured my love for music by joining the university choir. This allowed me to sing with like-minded individuals while maintaining a healthy balance between my academic and personal life. The choir became a source of inspiration and a sanctuary where I could find solace amidst the demands of my studies.

My journey at HKUST School of Engineering has been transformative. I am grateful for the opportunities I have had to pursue my passions and develop both academically and personally.
