The day before the official registration date at my new university, I had a crisis. Up until that point, I was determined to enter this particular university, but as registration day drew closer and closer, my doubts continued to multiply. So, the day before the official registration date at my new university, I decided to switch universities to the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and it was a decision I would not regret to this day.

My reasoning was straightforward: I believed that HKUST had a more comprehensive and higher-quality engineering program, and I also thought that HKUST would have a more culturally diverse and international community. After pursuing a Bachelor's of Engineering in Computer Science (COMP) for several semesters, and becoming an Engineering Student Ambassador while interacting with other ambassadors from around the globe, it is clear to me that my original reasoning for joining HKUST was not unfounded. Studying engineering at HKUST has been a wholly rewarding journey as I discovered an enjoyable, potential career path in Computer Science, partook in various social and professional events, and participated in programs such as peer mentoring, undergraduate research and the dance society.

I am honoured to be given this opportunity as an ESA to reach out to potential incoming students, and showcase the various achievements and goals of the School of Engineering in HKUST. More than anything, I am excited to be a part of this community and be able to share about the myriad of experiences I have encountered, and why I am incredibly fortunate to have switched to this university the day before the official registration date.
