As an international student hailing from Delhi, I have had a penchant for engineering right since childhood. My dream to study engineering at a top university came true on the day when I was enrolled into HKUST. There are outright facts such as top academic ranking, renowned faculty and great research programs that you must have all heard about, but being an engineering student at HKUST is much more than that. The diverse and vibrant student body, the flexibility and most importantly the opportunities are something I personally admire. Having never studied Computers prior to my university life, I’m currently majoring in Computer Science due to the flexibility of the engineering curriculum, alongside the willingness of professors to help me outside the classroom. As I had a keen interest in economics as well, the Engineering School has helped me develop that too as it has a collaboration of a minor program with the Business School.

HKUST truly feels like a home away from home and besides academics, there is so much going on around the campus that never fails to keep me excited. Personally I indulge in sports such as football and HKUST has a breathtaking seaside football pitch for it. Additionally programs such as the Engineering Student Ambassador and Peer mentor offer great insight into leadership skills as well as professionalism, creating a well-rounded individual with a holistic mindset.
