Hi, I am Connie. Welcome to HKUST Engineering School.

My interest in engineering started with buildings. It is well known that Hong Kong’s average property prices are higher than other cities, and young people do not even dare to dream of buying a flat in their twenties. And it makes me wonder: are there any options other than buying one from property developers? One idea surfaces – to build my own house. This idea has stuck with me and as I grew older, I realized that I have the ability to build houses for others as well. Through applying my scientific knowledge and a little innovation, it is no longer a dream, but a practical solution. And this created the girl who is determined to become a civil engineer to solve practical problems in the city and create an impact.

HKUST SENG is the warmest family I have ever been involved in. Here, I have met people with sparkling eyes, eager to learn and ambitiously working together to realize their dreams. The faculty provides us with resources and support regardless of how unrealistic our ideas are. I really cherish the opportunity to be an ESA, and proudly welcome you to my beloved school.
