Candy Chor Shan

Hi, Everyone. I’m Candy, currently a year 4 student majoring in Chemical and Environmental Engineering.

“Scientists discover the world that exists; engineers create the world that never was.” This quote prompted me to choose the School of Engineering (SENG) since HKUST provides many opportunities for us to actualize our own ideas. In order to allow us to be familiar with engineering industries in the real world, exchange programs, internship programs as well as regular plant visits are organized every year. Through the exchange program that I joined last summer, I was exposed to innovative technologies in Korea which broadened my horizons.

Besides, HKUST emphasizes on personal development - the Engineering Student Ambassador (ESA) program is one great example. It provides a platform to communicate with classmates from different backgrounds, hence learning from each other and eventually improving on different aspects. Moreover, being an ESA gives me the chance to share my experience with fellow students in order to help them adapt to university life and promote the School of Engineering to others.
