Sang Hyun

Hello, my name is Sang Hyun Jeon! I am an international student from Korea but I spent half of my life outside Korea. Studying abroad in India since grade 9, I came up with a decision of joining the School of Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. I have always dreamt of making our society and people’s lives better and more convenient. I believe studying engineering at HKUST can be a perfect platform to realize my dream.

Studying engineering at HKUST has given me countless opportunities. First and most importantly, it has developed me into a more intellectual person. Surrounded by passionate and smart people at HKUST, I subtly became more passionate, and smarter. Secondly, the courses at HKUST are well designed and structured to allow students to slowly but properly understand the subject matter. The curriculums are getting increasingly better after receiving feedback at the end of each semester. Lastly, HKUST provides various new experiences. For instance, a program like the Engineering Student Ambassador (ESA) allows me to get involved in a new area in which a typical engineering student would not normally face. As an Engineering Student Ambassador, I learned how to handle huge responsibilities and how to represent myself.

I never doubted being an engineering student at HKUST and I am proud of being a representative of the School of Engineering. I am glad to answer any questions and I look forward to seeing more prospective engineering students in the near future at HKUST.
