Enrolling in HKUST was always my dream. After joining “Engineering Day Camp for Secondary School Students” co-organized by The Institute of Engineers and HKUST, I was appealed to the beautiful scenery and the harmonious culture of the University. Not only could this unique chance allow me to gain insight into the profession, it also enabled me to interact with local engineering leaders. Their fulfilling life even through continuous struggle strengthened my determination to become an engineer.
An eminent engineer, Theodore von Karman, once said, “Engineers create the world that never was.” Despite the tough working environment of an engineer, I believe observing a facility grow from a drawing to a real building is a special experience. I would like to be a civil engineer - other than developing a well-linked transportation network, I also hope to help improve the infrastructure in Hong Kong so as to more concretely connect it with the world.
The campus life in HKUST is rewarding and unforgettable. Joining the ESA Program offers me broad exposure within the engineering field and equips me with confidence. I look forward to introducing engineering to the public.
