Curiosity about how things operate has always driven me to learn about their underlying mechanisms and theories. Naturally, Maths and Science became my favorite subjects. When I was in secondary school, my interests in these fields grew further, which led to my initial thought of pursuing a career in academic research. It was not until later that I changed my mind, as I realized that applying my knowledge to create something new and concrete could be more impactful than developing abstract theories. This is why I am here to study engineering, hoping to put concepts into reality and improve the society.
Before entering HKUST, I was always told about the strong academic atmosphere. However, after experiencing it for a year, I found out that the environment of HKUST is even more diverse. There are many great minds with innovative ideas to share. It was a pleasure to have met many friends with similar interests and professors with inspiring stories. Other than that, there are all kinds of activities for you to develop your potential, and these opportunities have allowed me to push myself out of my comfort zone. Among them, the Engineering Student Ambassador program is one of the invaluable chances for me to both gain exposure to the engineering field and promote engineering to young talents and the public.
