Hello everyone, I am John, a local student  currently studying Mechanical Engineering. When I was young, I loved vehicles very much. I wanted to know more and investigate  the mechanisms behind making a vehicle work. Therefore, I chose Mechanical Engineering as my major.

Being an engineering student in HKUST is an honor for me. I joined several engineering-related competitions when I was in primary school and they were all held at HKUST. I could not have imagined that one day, I would really become an engineering student here at HKUST.

The reason I joined the Engineering Student Ambassador (ESA) Program is that I want to help students learn more about engineering as well as the environment at HKUST. After studying in HKUST for a year, I found that many students were still confused about the various engineering programs. Thus, I would like to share my own experience and passion with them.

More importantly, I will also have the chance to meet with local S6 students who are eager to study engineering at HKUST – in fact I was actually one of those students in the past. On Engineering Exploration Day, most of them are nervous about the interview and doubtful about their chances of being admitted. I believe that this is a good chance for me to promote engineering and encourage them for the interview, just like what the former ESAs did to me when I was the interviewee, and I am very thankful for that.

If you have any questions about studying engineering at HKUST, please do not hesitate to talk with me. I will try my best to help you.
