Engineering has significantly shaped my life, influencing my interests and goals from a young age. I have always been fascinated by the ability to create and innovate, turning ideas into tangible realities. This drive to build and problem-solve has been a constant throughout my life. When I was young, this fascination manifested in various ways. I would spend hours building different structures, using whatever materials I could find around the house, like cupboards and wooden sticks, to create forts and imaginative designs. I also enjoyed playing with gears and mechanical toys, trying to understand how they worked and sometimes even taking them apart to see the inner mechanisms. Besides, I dabbled in some basic programming, writing simple lines of code to make things happen on the screen, which sparked an early interest in the digital world.

After a year of study at UST, my understanding of engineering and the opportunities it presents has deepened considerably. I realized the extent of freedom and opportunity afforded within this community, which has broadened my perspective. We can essentially choose any course that aligns with our interests and career goals, allowing for a personalized educational journey. Moreover, in each class, I can find people from diverse majors or even different schools, creating a rich and varied learning environment. This interdisciplinary environment has truly broadened my horizons, exposing me to different ways of thinking and approaching problems. Engaging with people from varied backgrounds, such as arts, sciences, and business, has allowed me to see connections between different fields that I hadn't noticed before, fostering a more holistic and integrated understanding of various subjects.
