Vasantha
Hey, this is Vasantha! 😃 I’ve just figured out a way to escape the classic engineering stereotype—who said you have to stick to the traditional path? Haha! That kinda explains my major choice: bioengineering, which is definitely a departure from the usual computer science route. I know some folks think it’s a bit weird for an engineer to love biology, but I embrace it!
Growing up, I was taught that engineers finish their four years of bachelor’s degree and then—whoa—it’s time to work! That whole traditional route stressed me out. I mean, is that really the only way engineers work or live?
When I applied to HKUST and started exploring various options, I realized it’s not set in stone! Here, you can be an entrepreneur, invent amazing things, dive into robotics, do cutting-edge research, or even be an Engineering Student Ambassador (ESA), unleashing your creativity along the way. The opportunities are endless!
I’d say UST is the perfect space to help you expand your comfort zone and become a well-rounded person, ready to face the world. Spoiler alert: problems don’t magically disappear after graduation and a job, guys.
