My passion for engineering was ignited by the transformative power of technology, a concept I first truly appreciated after watching The Imitation Game. The film showed me how theoretical engineering and applied mathematics could not only decipher codes but fundamentally alter the course of history and daily life. This revelation shifted my perspective; I no longer saw electronics as mere components, but as the fundamental building blocks for innovation and societal progress. It sparked a desire to be part of that creative, problem solving process.
Studying Electronic Engineering at HKUST has provided the perfect environment to pursue this passion. The program’s rigorous curriculum has given me a strong theoretical foundation, while the hands-on labs and projects have allowed me to translate theory into tangible reality. Here, I am constantly surrounded by brilliant minds and cutting-edge resources, from designing circuits to understanding computer communication networks. Being a woman in this dynamic field at HKUST has been incredibly empowering, it has taught me to approach complex challenges with resilience and a unique perspective, reinforcing my belief that engineering is about crafting elegant solutions that can, quite literally, change the world !
