Studying Engineering was a dream for me since I was 12, watching every rocket launch there is, planes, cars, mechanical toys, all were interesting to me, even going on the HKUST Admission Page to read about degrees offered. After 6 hard-fought years, I entered the school, and that dream turned into reality. Life in HKUST has its ups and downs, getting to join Extra-Curriculars, while having to wait 30 minutes for the bus at South Gate, able to meet new friends from all around the world while needing to fight for a seat in the Library, the campus basically have everything you need while getting lost in the Academic Building everytime, all a wonderful memory and things all i dearly love about HKUST. An environment where everyone is friendly and chill, can do the most crazy fun things, and at the same time, grind for their CGA like no one I've seen before. A melting pot of cultures, diversity, while being super welcoming, which was my first impression when I visited HKUST for the first time in 2023 for the Engineering Exploration Day. I had a wonderful time chatting with an ESA, asking about school-life, academics, etc he was super nice and gave me every answer to my questions. One of the most fruitful and memorable things I've done in HKUST, besides waiting to receive my grades at 3 AM in Europe, was being on the Executive Committee of ESU, a bunch of random people, working together because of their love for the society and school. It gave me many opportunities and opened doors for my future. I'm now Year 2 in my University Journey, joining ESA, being on ESU and having my major, and I hope the next few years will be as wonderful and fruitful as the last one.
