Hello! I'm Gurvir, a Civil Engineering student at HKUST. I was always fascinated by how our city constantly transforms—the tunnels that cut through mountains, the bridges that connect islands, and the skyscrapers that define our iconic skyline. This wasn't just a childhood curiosity; it became a calling. I chose to study at HKUST because it’s the place where that calling meets world-class education and real-world application.
I’ll be honest, I had heard all the stories about the intense workload. The pressure to perform can feel immense. But what I found here was more than just challenging academics; I found a community. Between demanding projects, I've been involved in countless activities, from this ESA experience to hands-on labs and company visits. These experiences didn’t just complement my studies; they defined my university life, teaching me teamwork and leadership.
That’s why becoming a SENG Student Ambassador means so much to me. It allows me to give back and share my journey with fellow Hong Kong students who might be considering this path. I want to show them that engineering is about building a better future for our city, and that HKUST is the perfect place to start.
